Summary: Tonton Manu
Begun at the dawn of his eightieth birthday, completed to the day five years later, this portrait of the musician Manu Dibango, tireless defender of the mixture of cultures, takes us from Paris to Douala, from Kinshasa to Rio, from New- York in Saint Calais, a small village in Sarthe where he spent part of his childhood. Rhythmed by the interventions of personalities like Yannick Noah or black M, this sensitive and modest portrait is dotted with moments of musical grace where the great Manu brings forth moments of pure emotion from his sax.
Summary : On est fait pour s’entendre
Antoine seems to listen to nothing and no one: his students (who demand more attention from him), his colleagues (who don’t like his lack of concentration), his lovers (who reproach him for his lack of empathy)… And for cause: Antoine is still young, but has lost a lot of hearing. Her new neighbor Claire, who has come to settle temporarily with her sister with her daughter after the loss of her husband, dreams of calm and tranquility. Not from a neighbor as noisy as Antoine, with his loud music and endless ringing alarm clock. And yet, Claire and Antoine are made for each other!
