Through archival and contemporary newsreels, photographs, and films, Raoul Peck explores the legacy of George Orwell’s iconic novel 1984. Aided by excerpts from the author’s various writings—read in voiceover by Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers, Homeland)—the filmmaker reflects on authoritarianism past and present.
Orwell: 2+2=5 premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025 and stands as the most recent documentary from writer, producer, and director Raoul Peck.
