The Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM) has unveiled the films that will mark the opening and closing of its 27th edition. From November 20th to December 1st, 2024, cinephiles are invited to immerse themselves in a variety of captivating universes.

An Android’s Perspective on Our World

For this new edition, the RIDM has chosen to open the festival with Tobias Nölle’s “Preparations for a Miracle”. This film, at the crossroads of militant documentary and science fiction, takes us to a future where androids observe a humanity in decline. Through the lens of these artificial beings, the Swiss filmmaker casts a critical eye on our relationship with technology, the environment, and ourselves. Indigenous Youth in the Spotlight

In closing, Kim O’Bomsawin’s film, “Ninan Auassat: We, the Children”, will be screened.
