The KINO MONTREAL team is thrilled to announce that on the first Friday of every month, the Théâtre Plaza will once again host the Kino short film challenge screenings, to the great delight of kinoites and film lovers everywhere! From September 2025 to May 2026, a new challenge will be launched each month for filmmakers of all kinds, with grants, prizes, and opportunities for distribution outside of Kino. These festive evenings are great places for artistic exchange and networking, or just to grab a drink with your favorite filmmaker! The first event in September will be preceded by a season opening happy hour on Friday, September 5.

The Kino Scénario initiative is also back this year on the first and last Tuesday of every month at the Kino headquarters, along with other opportunities for specialized individual mentorship: Kino Distribution and Kino Gestion finance. Special events will also be held on certain first Fridays of the month, such as Kino Mentorat: follow Kino so you don’t miss a thing!

Tickets are available on the Théâtre Plaza website. Members get free entry to all events.
