The Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television – Quebec section has just unveiled the nine selected participants of the fourth cohort of the Screenwriters’ Pitch – Cinema, presented by Telefilm Canada and supported by SARTEC and INIS. This program will allow racialized, Black, Indigenous, or LGBTQ2S+ screenwriters to perfect their pitching skills. The jury, composed of screenwriter, director, and producer Josiane Blanc and director and screenwriter Kimberley Surin, selected the candidates last week.
In this edition, the screenwriters will benefit from a legal clinic (contract negotiation workshop by SARTEC), pitch training with the chair of the board of Makila and co-founder of Pitch Cuban Hat, Giulia Frati, a visual design workshop, presented by POP, culture + digital to perfect their pitch presentation, and a discussion with audiovisual industry mentors accompanied by feedback on their screenplays.
The program will conclude with a pitch in front of producers looking for projects, on March 11, 2025.
