December is a special month when it comes to TV and movies. It’s the month, in Quebec at least, when networks and broadcasters launch special holiday programming. 

When it comes to streaming, this trend continues with movies, but not with series. What does it look like?

Movies

While a few titles survive the hype of the holiday season, the majority of films in December’s top 10 are new entries. And many, as you might expect, are holiday movies.

Some rather recent ones like Elf, starring Will Ferrell, are present alongside classics like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (the classic of North American classics). 

Barbie still holds on to third place. 

Series

But if you’re looking for recent productions, it’s the series that you should be looking at this month. While Doctor Who and Fargo continue to dominate, newcomers such as The Bear make their debut. 

It’s worth noting, however, that the majority of titles were there in November.
