The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced shortlists in 12 categories for the 98th Academy Awards\u00ae: Animated Short Film, Casting, Cinematography, Documentary Feature Film, Documentary Short Film, International Feature Film, Live Action Short Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Sound and Visual Effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ANIMATED SHORT FILM<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Fifteen films will advance in the Animated Short Film category for the 98th Academy Awards. One hundred thirteen films qualified in the category. Academy members from the Animation Branch and Short Films Branch were invited to participate in the preliminary round of voting and must have met a minimum viewing requirement to be eligible to vote in the category.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe Girl Who Cried Pearls<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
In the nominations round, Academy members from all branches are invited to opt in to participate and must view all 15 shortlisted films to vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
