An uneventful ride to campus becomes a nightmare as MAX, a diabetic, biology student, is entrapped in a diabolical wellness experiment. With her insulin supply dwindling, Max is forced into a deadly game of cat and mouse to save her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Pins and Needles<\/em>, James Villeneuve delivers a horror thriller that, while not grandiose, offers good moments to viewers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Full of clich\u00e9s<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pins and Needles<\/em> is full of clich\u00e9s. From beginning to end, we can predict what will happen. These clich\u00e9s range from the clingy colleague in love with the girl who wants nothing to do with him, to the weird guy we pick up along the way, to finally ending with the girl who heads to the basement instead of leaving through the back door when the bad guys enter through the front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But these clich\u00e9s don’t prevent the film from delivering what it has to deliver. Let’s say we would have liked the film to break out of the mold a bit more at times, to give itself a chance to be a little surprising, but the director is content with ease by using “the good old slippers”. While it doesn’t make the film imaginative, it makes it accessible to everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entertaining<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, the lack of originality doesn’t make this feature film soporific. The scenes remain well structured, which allows the viewer to get involved in the story. The main character is endearing, and Chelsea Clark manages to be convincing despite the unlikely situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The villains<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We can easily identify with the young woman who is simple, but intelligent, pretty, but normal and adventurous while being fearful. As if to say that clich\u00e9s are not always destructive in a film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The villains are predictable, but remain entertaining. The woman is particularly enjoyable to watch in all her madness. And the final confrontation is frankly cool. Thus, the film still manages to get a passing grade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little more…<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Horror thriller fans should appreciate Pins and Needles<\/em> despite the few murders that are hidden there. There are enough bloody moments to give that little something that we look for in this kind of cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a film to see if you don’t really want to rack your brains and to have a good time reacting to the stupidity of the heroine’s movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
