The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre\u2019s 13th annual Toronto Japanese Film Festival (TJFF) will be held from June 6th to 20th at the JCCC\u2019s Kobayashi Hall. The festival has now grown into one of the largest film events of its kind in the world and is recognized by the Japanese film industry as a vital conduit for bringing Japanese film to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TJFF is programmed to reflect the rich diversity of the world 4th largest film industry and the 2024 edition will feature 23 movies including the International Premieres of Kosai Sekine\u2019s mystery drama Stay mum<\/em>\u300c\u304b\u304f\u3057\u3054\u3068 \u300dstarring Anne Watanabe and Eiji Okuda and Toshiyuki Teruya\u2019s heartwarming Okinawa-based comedy Kanasando\u300c\u304b\u306a\u3055\u3093\u3069\u30fc \u300d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival is also very proud to present the World Premiere of Alice Il Shin\u2019s Landscapes of home<\/em> \u300c\u6545\u90f7\u306e\u98a8\u666f\u300d from producer Eiko Kawabe Brown. The film is an investigation of Japanese Canadian struggle from a new perspective redefining what it means to find home against a backdrop of war and loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sho Miyake\u2019s gentle tale of friendship amid mental-health struggles, All the long nights<\/em> \u300c\u591c\u660e\u3051\u306e\u3059\u3079\u3066 \u300d, Yoshiyuki Kishi\u2019s winner of the Audience Award and Best Director at the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival, (AB)Normal desire<\/em> \u300c\u6b63\u6b32\u300d , Toshiro Saiga\u2019s up-beat musical comedy set among the traditional hot-spring inns of the famous Kaga Onsen region, The dancing Okami<\/em>\u300c\u30ec\u30c7\u30a3\u52a0\u8cc0\u300dand Izuru Narushima\u2019s story of loneliness, connection and identity, 52-Hertz whales<\/em> \u300c52 \u30d8\u30eb\u30c4\u306e\u30af\u30b8\u30e9\u305f\u3061\u300d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
