\u00ab \u00c7a m’a pris un moment avant de comprendre qu’on fait pas un deuil, mais qu’on le porte toute notre vie. \u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n\n

\"Monarque<\/figure>\n\n

Charlie, un gar\u00e7on de 10 ans, vit avec sa famille, \u00e0 la campagne, dans les ann\u00e9es 1980. Un accident tragique entra\u00eene la mort de son fr\u00e8re a\u00een\u00e9. Il devra composer avec le deuil.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Avec Monarque<\/em>, gagnant de la 5e<\/sup> \u00e9dition du FICMAN, Laurence Tremblay raconte le deuil du point de vue d’un gar\u00e7on de 10 ans. Il s’agit d’une approche qu’on n’a pas vue souvent, et elle traite ce sujet difficile de fa\u00e7on touchante, mais l\u00e9g\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n

Un film narr\u00e9 \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re personne<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Fait plut\u00f4t rare, avec Monarque<\/em>, nous sommes en pr\u00e9sence d’un r\u00e9el film narr\u00e9 \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re personne. Il arrive souvent que l’on voit des \u0153uvres comportant une narration \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re personne. Mais en r\u00e8gle g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, une grande partie de ces films comporte tout de m\u00eame des dialogues entre le personnage principal et les autres personnages de l’histoire.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Mais ici, \u00e0 part deux ou trois phrases prononc\u00e9es par la m\u00e8re de Charlie, et quelques cris d’amusement des deux fr\u00e8res, tout est en narration. Une narration qui est racont\u00e9e par les yeux (ou la bouche ;-)) de l’enfant. \u00c7a donne vraiment l’impression que Charlie nous raconte son histoire, \u00e0 nous. Le r\u00e9sultat est convaincant. En tant que spectateur, on se sent directement interpell\u00e9 par le personnage, ce qui renforce les \u00e9motions ressenties.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

\"Monarque<\/figure>\n\n

J’en profite pour dire que le narrateur est excellent, tout comme les deux gar\u00e7ons. La chimie est parfaite. On croirait qu’ils sont deux vrais fr\u00e8res.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Visuel et sonore<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Afin de financer son film, la r\u00e9alisatrice est pass\u00e9e par un processus de sociofinancement. Elle avait de grandes ambitions au niveau visuel, et pour \u00e7a elle avait besoin du bon mat\u00e9riel. Beaucoup d’efforts ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mis dans la direction artistique, et \u00e7a se voit. Les images sont magnifiques. La r\u00e9alisatrice passe d’une image plus granuleuse lors des s\u00e9quences ext\u00e9rieures du d\u00e9but du film, \u00e0 des images plus lumineuses avec des teintes orang\u00e9es \u00e0 partir du milieu du film.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Et il y a la musique quasi \u00e9pique. Je n’ai pas l’habitude d’aimer les films qui on une trame musicale ininterrompue. En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, ce sont des films au sc\u00e9nario faible, qui tentent de cr\u00e9er des \u00e9motions faciles. Mais Laurence Tremblay l’utilise habilement, en support \u00e0 ses talentueux acteurs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Au final, on se retrouve avec un film touchant, beau et marquant, qu’on a envie de revoir encore et encore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
